FAQs about hemp
We receive a lot of similar enquires about our plant so we've decided to create this section with the most asked questions.
Long story short, Both Hemp and Marijuana are plants from the Cannabis Species. However, hemp has none to almost nothing of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) the famous cannabinoid that gets you high.
That said, we like to say that Hemp is the non-intoxicating cannabis yet very nutritious and with many food and industrial applications, while marijuana would be the cannabis with recreational and medicinal uses.
The products you see available in our website are all Hemp-Based, safe for consumption and 100% legal with the current regulations in NZ.
No you will not. As mentioned before, Hemp has little to no THC, the cannabinoid responsible for the high. In order to be classified as hemp in New Zealand, the plant must contain less than 0.35% This percentage makes it non-intoxicating, safe to use at all ages and it will not affect the results on a drug test.
In New Zealand, on 12 November 2018 the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) announced hemp seeds to be allowed to be sold as food for human consumption. This means that the growing, manufacture and sale of the low-THC seeds for food is now permitted. The industrial hemp variety of Cannabis Sativa must have a THC content lower than 0.5 percent. Here in New Zealand, isn’t higher than 0.35 percent.
Since 1st of March 2021, CBD (cannabidiol) oil is a prescription only medicine in New Zealand. We can not sell CBD online and you are unable to legally purchase CBD online in New Zealand. The only legal source of obtaining CBD oil is through a doctors prescription.
If you find in New Zealand a company offering CBD oil online, they cannot legally sell it, or it is not in fact a real CBD product.
Hemp seed oil can contain trace amounts of cannabinoids like CBD but this doesn't make it a CBD product. Hemp seed oil comes from the cold pressed seeds, while CBD comes from the flower or bud.
That said be careful for misleading products that are marketing hemp seed oil as CBD oil.

Terpenes don’t exert a psychoactive high in the same way as THC. However, they do work in more subtle ways to alter mood through interaction with the serotonin and dopamine systems. These molecules also influence the high generated by cannabinoids and “tweak” it in noticeable ways. For example, terpenes such as limonene serve up a refreshing and stimulating sensation.
